The diversity of its members (faculty, students, technicians, public managers) reflects the necessary openness to collective and purposeful dialogue, combined with the fact that their research contributes to contemporary debates across diverse territories.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Theoretical-Methodological Framework<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The theoretical-methodological approach adopted is a critical, reflective, and multi-scalar interdisciplinary perspective to address themes in the fields of development and environment, and their relations with conflicts, territories, extractivisms (mineral, agribusiness, etc.), impacts of infrastructure projects, political struggles of (re)existence, traditional peoples and communities, Amazonian cities, geopolitics and necropolitics, and the intersectionality of class, gender, and race, within a decolonial perspective in the capitalist world-system.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Discover the History of GETTAM<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Research Group State, Territory, Work, and Globalized Markets (GETTAM) is part of the CNPq Directory of Research Groups. It was created in 1995 and is coordinated by Professor Dr. Edna Maria Ramos de Castro. The members of the group come from the Graduate Program in Sustainable Development of the Humid Tropics (PPGDSTU) of the Center for Advanced Amazonian Studies (NAEA) and the Graduate Program in Sociology and Anthropology (PPGSA) of the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH) at the Federal University of Par\u00e1 (UFPA), as well as other faculty members from UFPA and national and international research institutions.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 2015, the Research Group State, Territory, Work, and Globalized Markets (GETTAM) has conceived and organized the International Seminar Latin America and the Caribbean \u2013 SIALAT, and has established national and international partnerships. As a biennial event, SIALAT has addressed contemporary issues of the Global South, giving visibility to socio-economic and environmental dynamics as well as processes of mobilization and political struggles, within the critical perspective of Southern epistemologies.
